Morning Meeting: 90 percent of Conflict is Non-Verbal

I read a statistic recently that said: "10% of conflict is difference of opinion and 90% of conflict is non-verbal."  I can see that being the case, especially in a high-pressure work environment.

As week head into another day, let's remember the power of a glance or an encouraging words. Also what are you saying non-verbally? What are you "saying" when you aren't "speaking"? Pay close attention. You might be surprised. When you aren't acting on a positive intention, you leave the room with a negative interpretation.

Action Step: Pay attention to your tone of voice and non-verbal communication today. Remember that it's not always what you say but how you say it. Work to increase your positive intentions towards others through a smile or encouraging words. A simple thank you can warm your heart.

Affirmation: I express my appreciation to those around me.
